How To Turn Your Business Card Into A Lead Generating Magnet
By Michael on Mar 15, 2010 in Videos
Episode # 67: michael krisa shares a simple strategy that will easily make your business card generate more leads and more sales.
The problem with most real estate type business cards is that they are all the same and do nothing to generate leads, sales or referrals.
Well what if I showed you a way that you could modify your business card so that your clients would actually WANT to hand it out to their friends, family and co-workers. In essence your clients would now be working for you!
Better still what if I told you that your business card could:
- track where you leads were coming from
- qualify perspective buyers
- make your phone ring
- drive leads to your web site
In this video I’ll share with you the psychology behind a Direct Response style card and how you can create your own … for very little money.
All Good Wishes,
michael krisa
*** The card I use in the video is just an EXAMPLE … make sure that whatever you do is compliant to the rules/laws of your state ***

Great Tip Micheal, Thanks for using my card as the way not to do it :0). The cards I have been using for a while have a call to action to request a market report. But the idea of using the sellers home on the back is outside the box and I like that.. Thanks again for the great tip I will re-think how I can make mine better
Come see me next time your on Cape Cod!

Anyone with a business card and a printer can use your idea and do it starting tonight. If they don’t have a listing, they can borrow one and use these cards at the open house, or in prospecting, with listing agent’s permission.
Your idea is one I have taught. The key is to put the inventory first, making it simple, and using both sides, including special reports that the CLIENTS WANT.
Your call to action adn special offer for REALESTATEUNPLUGGED is very effective and demonstrates the need to give people an immediate win.
Keep up the good work, Michael!

People would not hand out flyers, but a business card is socially acceptable. They can promote their home and you at the same time.
Great idea

Great tip Michael! There is so much wasted real estate (pun intended) on business cards that this is really a no-brainer. Maybe, just maybe, recipients of this kind of business card will use it for something other than to pick the broccoli out of their teeth.

So Shawn .. is this your idea of “green” friendly

Let me ask you a ? Did I see both sides of your card contain a call to action?
By Michael on Mar 16, 2010 | Reply
Eric … In this example the front of the card was more of a qualifier for buyers .. that and winning the listing!
The back had two distinct calls to action to ring my 800# and listen to a recorded message.

Michael, great idea but how do you fit all the federally required disclosures on a business card?
Anytime you quote payment, you have to indicate if it is PITI and the interest rate and APR, type of loan etc.
By Michael on Mar 16, 2010 | Reply
Greg,
On this side of the border that’s not an issue but I wonder if it could be as simple as using an asterisk to call for more information?

Absolutely a “Great Idea”! I will use this one.
By Michael on Mar 23, 2010 | Reply
Hey Adam … thanks but don’t forget that there needs to be some sort of call to action – that’s what really makes this work.

Hi Michael, Your idea is good, I have been doing cards like this for the past few years. I do want to bring to your attention, the example you showed has a number of RESPA violations.
Anytime you state a payment amount or down payment, you must also show the APR, Interest arte and loan type and also state the terms are subject to change at any time. A suggestion would be to add in a disclamer about making sure the cards are RESOA compliant. Great Job.

Thanks for the tip – I am technically savvy and in the mortgage industry and would easily be able to assist other Realtors with this. My only concern is in CA, when we post down payment and payment, we are hit with a slew of other “required” disclosure information to stay in compliance. I am wondering if you had researched or ran into this issue?

Have you heard of the SAFE Act or other acts that govern advertising of lending terms? This is beyond not compliant. I don’t know the repercussions to a real estate agent who is not a mortgage originator but you might want to check them out before promoting this.

Michael,
Great idea and simple to implement. The best part about this idea that agents in my company have done it report is that the Seller now asks for more cards so they can pass them out at work, the gym, etc.
It’s building a marketing team without the payroll!

Hey Sean – Glad you enjoyed this tactic and yes … somethimes it’s those simple things that make the big impacts.
