Great comment and so true. The industry mindset has to evolve to sacrificing the short term need for the long term gain of the customer.

Awesome tips. Positive energy is contagious and Gloria’s story should be an inspiration to Real Estate pros who don’t believe that social media marketing is worth their and effort.
I guess Realtors need to set themselves free for the short-term transaction mentality and understand that social media works slowly but surely.
On social media, a home buyer maybe asking a question today but he would be interested in hiring a Realtor 6 months later. The socially active Realtor (as in Gloria’s case), who is readily available answer the prospect’s question thoroughly and promptly, will instantly gain prospects trust. The key here is to understand that people are “screening” agents online and comparing between them. So the smart thing to do is to offer genuine help to prospects, WITHOUT expecting overnight sales. That’s it.

I agree that agents (heck most of the human race) are apprehensive when it comes to change. The real growth comes from embracing those things that make us afraid and doing them.

Hi Michael, great simple message. Don’t forget, even if agents are a little apprehensive about doing the video stuff there are plenty of real estate photographers that have been getting ready for video for quite awhile now and can help with every aspect. And they don’t charge a bomb to do it, they just need to be asked.

Michael — you are right on — It is such an important question to ask: “Who are you following?” All the greats have leaders and models they follow to learn from, to be inspired by and to work to emulate and hopefully one day surpass (which in itself is a source of inspiration and motivation).

Every Agent I know that is successful is a lifelong learner.
